Wappapello Lake Mobility Impaired Deer Hunt-October 22 and 23

Wappapello Lake, near Wappapello, Missouri, US...Image via WikipediaThe Mobility Impaired Deer Hunt is an annual event held at the Wappapello Lake.  The hunt is designed to permit hunters with severe mobility impairment an opportunity for a quality hunting opportunity in a safe environment.  Applications for the hunt are available and accepted in August of each year, with drawing and notification in September.  Fifteen positions are available for a two-day hunt held during late October.  This is not a managed hunt, nor is it a bonus deer.  Zone regulations regarding deer permits and deer hunting apply.  All hunters, regardless of age, are required to provide proof of completion of a certified hunter education course.  Blinds are provided for participants, and the may be accompanied on the hunt.  Persons accompanying successful applicants are not allowed to hunt, or possess a firearm.
