According
to Missouri State Parks, the reopened areas include the playground,
boat ramp, open shelter, interpretive plaza and picnic area. The
campground and the beach (including the showerhouse) remain closed until
further notice.
The
park, located on an oxbow lake near the Missouri River, was closed last
summer because of flooding from the river’s rising water levels.
Although
the campground at Lewis and Clark State Park remains temporarily
closed, there are other state parks in northwest Missouri that are open
to campers. These include Wallace State Park near Cameron, Weston Bend
State Park near Weston and Watkins Woolen Mill State Park near Lawson.
