JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Celebrate Earth Day Saturday, April 21 with a guided bison hike at Prairie State Park near Mindenmines. The free event, which is sponsored by Missouri State Parks, will begin at 10 a.m. and the public is invited to attend.
Take a trip back in time and see one of our most magnificent mammals on its native prairie habitat. Learn about bison biology, Native American uses of the bison, herd dynamics, prairies, and much more. The park naturalist will lead the hike, which could last at least one hour, possibly longer depending on the location of the bison herd. Dress for the weather and hiking across the prairie.
