MDC staff to speak at Explore the Outdoors: Kansas City

May 9 event focuses on conservation and outdoor opportunities
Kansas City, Mo. – A May 9 event with educational seminars about conservation and
outdoor recreation will include two speakers from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). The seminars are part of an event titled Explore the Outdoors: Kansas City. The sessions are free and open to the public from 3 to 5 p.m. at Bass Pro Shops in Independence.
   Bob Mattucks, MDC fisheries management biologist, will talk about fishing opportunities in the Kansas City metro area. Joe DeBold, MDC urban wildlife biologist, will talk about urban archery deer hunting in the metro area. Also featured will be speakers from other groups and agencies discussing archery, youth fishing, state parks, birding, attracting birds with native plants, and shooting sports.
