How are conservation areas important to you?

The Missouri Department of Conservation is in the process of updating management plans for conservation areas and invites public comments. To view management plans and share mdc.mo.gov/areaplans.

The following draft Conservation Area Management Plans are available for public comment from March 1-31.

Central Region

Marshall Junction Conservation Area Management Plan - Marshall Junction Conservation Area consists of 773 acres of open land habitat, woodland commuities and limited agricultural row cropping for wildlife benefit. The objective is early successional habitats with abundant associated wildlife.
Prairie Home Conservation Area Management Plan - Prairie Home Conservation Area consists of 1,461 acres of woodland, glade and remnant prairie habitats. It provides the public with pond fishing, multi-use trails, hiking trails, hunting opportunities, and other activities.
Spring Creek Gap Conservation Area Management Plan - Spring Creek Gap Conservation Area consists of 1,819 acres of woodlands, glades and forests that support a diverse population of wildlife.

Northeast Region

Northeast Region Stream Accesses Less than 40 Acres Area Management Plan - Northeast Region Streams Accessess less than 40 acres consists of fifteen river accesses in the Northeast Region (Archangel Access, Ashley Access, Calumet Creek Access, Elmer A.
Cook Memorial Access, Fabius Chute Access, Fort Pike Access, Hamburg Ferry Access, Henry Truitt Access, Hunnewell Access, Indian Camp Access, Mullanix Ford Access, Paris Access, Robert H. Thompson Conservation Area, Rocky Ford Access, Santa Fe Access).
