Missouri State Parks has temporarily closed Roaring River State Park near Cassville due to flash flooding. The National Weather Service has declared a Flash Flood Emergency and advised the public not to travel in the area.
“I would like to commend our park staff for successfully evacuating our campers to higher ground and making sure all our visitors remain safe during this flooding,” said Bill Bryan, director of Missouri State Parks. “As the waters recede, we will begin assessing any damage and will work diligently to get the park back in shape for guests to fish, camp and enjoy the outdoors.”
Updated information for the closure will be posted here. Missouri State Parks is a division of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
